Privacy Policy

1. Collection and Use of Personal Information

TapDiary does not require user registration or login, and we do not collect directly identifying personal information such as your name, phone number, or email address. However, to serve in-app ads and to analyze usage for service improvement, certain information — such as advertising identifiers, device information, and app usage data — may be collected through the third-party SDKs described in Sections 4 and 5 below.

You sign in with a Google account only if you turn on Google Drive Backup in the Android app. The email address of the connected Google account is stored only on your device for backup purposes and is not sent to the Company.

2. Data Storage

By default, all data entered by the user (including logs, memos, and timestamps) is stored locally on the devices where the app is installed (such as iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Android devices). We do not collect or store your records on any of our servers.

If you enable iCloud Sync within the iOS app, the data is additionally stored in your own Apple iCloud account and synced across other devices signed in with the same Apple ID. Data stored in iCloud resides in your personal iCloud storage. The Company (developer) cannot access or read this data. Transmission and storage security is handled by Apple's standard policies. The Apple Watch app exchanges data with your iPhone only through your own iCloud account, and a copy of your records is also stored on the Apple Watch. The Company cannot access or read this data either.

You may stop iCloud Sync at any time by disabling the option in the app settings, or delete your data stored in iCloud through the app's menu. The copy stored on your Apple Watch is removed when you delete the app from the watch.

If you enable Google Drive Backup within the Android app, your app data (such as records, buttons, and settings) is additionally stored in a private app-only space in your own Google Drive. The app accesses only this app-only space and does not access any other files you store in Google Drive. The Company (developer) cannot access or read the data stored in Google Drive. Transmission and storage security is handled by Google's standard policies. For details, please refer to Google's privacy policy.

You may turn off Google Drive Backup or disconnect your Google account at any time in the app settings. Disconnecting does not delete the backup stored in Google Drive. To delete it, turn off the backup and use the "Delete Drive backup" menu in the app settings.

TapDiary's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy (https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy), including the Limited Use requirements.

3. Payment Information

  • In-app purchases (the Lifetime plan and the Monthly Subscription) are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  • We do not collect or store your payment details (e.g. card numbers or payment methods). Payment processing is governed by each Store's privacy policy.
  • Your purchase and subscription status (whether Premium is active) is managed by the Store, and the app stores the status it receives from the Store on your device. We do not collect this status on any server of our own. When switching devices, you can restore your purchase via the same Store account.

4. Advertising

  • This app uses Google AdMob to display ads.
  • Google and its advertising partners may collect and use advertising identifiers (Ad ID/IDFA), device IDs, IP addresses, and app activity data (such as ad impressions and clicks).
  • On iOS, advertising identifiers are used only if you consent under Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework. You can limit personalized ads through the "Limit Ad Tracking" / opt-out option in your device settings.
  • Data processing through AdMob is governed by Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).

5. Analytics

  • This app uses Google Firebase Analytics to analyze usage statistics and improve the service.
  • Firebase collects device information, an installation identifier, and app usage data, which is processed solely for statistical analysis.
  • Data processing through Firebase is governed by Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).

6. Third-Party Disclosure

We do not share, provide, or entrust the records you enter to any third parties. However, the following external providers are involved in processing for advertising, analytics, payment, sync, and backup, and each provider's privacy policy applies:

  • Advertising: Google AdMob
  • Analytics: Google Firebase Analytics
  • Payment: Apple or Google
  • iCloud Sync (when enabled): Apple iCloud
  • Google Drive Backup (when enabled): Google Drive
