TapDiary v2.0.0 Update: Home Screen Widgets

TapDiary has reached v2.0.0, and the star of this version is home screen widgets. Until now, widgets only lived on the lock screen — now you can place them on your home screen too. No need to open the app: one tap on your home screen and it's recorded.

Home screen widgets are available first on iOS (iOS 17 and later).

Two widgets to choose from

• Quick Record (2×2) — shows a single button, nice and big. Tap anywhere on the widget to record, so it's perfect for the one button you use most.
• Button Grid (4×2) — shows four buttons at once. Each cell records on its own, turning your home screen into a little TapDiary.

Choose what happens when you tap

You can decide what a tap does: just record, open the app, or add a note. Buttons you want to quietly stack up can just record; buttons where you'd like to jot down a line can prompt for a note — set each one to match how you use it.

How to add them

Long-press an empty spot on your home screen, find TapDiary in the widget list, and add it. For a step-by-step walkthrough with pictures, see Settings > Widget Guide in the app. (Requires iOS 17 or later.)
